The United States Refined Horsemanship Association is dedicated to making an extraordinary difference in the lives of equestrians, their horses and the industry. With Stewardship, Refined Horsemanship and Versatility as the cornerstones, the USRHA promotes rewarding, safe and lasting partnerships with horses through education and competition.

• To lead the industry as the association that upholds a stewardship to the horse in competition, professional endeavors and recreation.
• To promote the concepts of Stewardship, Refined Horsemanship and Versatility and by doing so support the efforts of breeders, owners and professionals who are in alignment with these ideals, by increasing the demand and value for the services and products they provide.
• To provide an educational path for professionals, competitors, riders and horse owners that honors the true nature and correct biomechanics of the horse with the goal of achieving safer, more harmonious and enjoyable working partnerships. 
• To emphasize and promote refined horsemanship skills which support the horse’s mental and physical well-being.
• To create a new benchmark in competition, through the venue of Refined Horse Versatility, which has been designed to promote the mental well-being and biomechanical correctness of the horse while offering structured and positive challenges to competitors.
• To maintain a standard of competitive judging which adheres to the principles of Refined Horse Versatility.
• To recognize achievements in competition, education and leadership.
• To maintain a willingness to embrace new ideas, concepts and technologies that better serve the horse.
